During Rose Celebration Weeks, 13th – 24th June, groups can enjoy the beauty of Jay Robin’s Rose Garden in full bloom. The impressive garden ‘room’ is a real feast for the senses with 750 David Austin roses in 100 varieties filling the air with glorious fragrance.

Wander along Paradise Walk or relax in the serenity of the Italian Garden where the newly designed herbaceous borders by RHS award-winning garden designer, Chris Beardshaw are guaranteed to lift the spirits. For a cooling moment enjoy our Italian Garden with water lilies and outstanding views.

Borde Hill Garden offers groups bespoke catering and a beautifully decorated marquee that can be pre-booked for exclusive use during a visit. For 2022, Borde Hill has teamed up with Sussex Prairie Garden, to offer groups the opportunity to visit both iconic gardens in one day. The Garden also continues its joint ticket offer with The Bluebell Railway, named one of the best steam railways in Britain.

The Garden is hosting a colourful calendar of summer events with something to delight both groups and individuals. On 25th and 26th June, browse a spectacular variety of inspirational and beautifully made arts and crafts when the Sussex Guild Contemporary Craft Show comes to Borde Hill Garden.

Returning for its third year on the 9th July, the hugely popular Sussex Gin Fest is the UK’s largest gin festival which celebrates the extraordinary craftsmanship of independent Sussex, British and worldwide gin distillers. With delicious hot and cold artisan food, captivating demonstrations on all things gin, and a main stage with live entertainment all day, this is one of the hottest tickets for 2022.

Music lovers can delight in live music in the Garden on selected Sundays throughout July and August. Summer also sees the return of Britain’s leading outdoor touring company Opera Brava, who on the 22nd July will present a new production of Carmen, and on 23rd July The Barber of Seville, performed with a chamber ensemble against the magical backdrop of the Elizabethan Mansion House.

Other highlights include a Specialist Plant Fair on 11th September, featuring unusual plants from leading nurseries in the south-east, and a summer exhibition of sculpture and art inspired by nature, taking place throughout the Garden from 1st August to 30th September. Bark in the Park on 21st August offers a great day out for dogs of all shapes and sizes and their families, including a fun dog show, have-a-go activities, ‘Waggy Tail’ family trail, stalls and demonstrations. Foodies can enjoy the last days of summer at The Great British Food Festival taking place in the Parkland on 17th and 18th September.

Borde Hill in West Sussex is one of Britain’s truly great heritage gardens. Originally the vision of Colonel Stephenson Robert Clarke, who from 1893 dedicated 50 years to creating a magnificent collection of rare trees and flowering shrubs from around the world, it now represents the very best in British gardening. The Garden features formal garden ‘rooms’ around the Elizabethan house, wide lawns flowing out into the countryside, many plant species found nowhere else in Britain, and woods with one of the country’s largest privately owned collections of champion trees. In a nutshell, Borde Hill offers groups the world in one garden.

Borde Hill has a wonderful Gift Shop which offers a wide selection of locally sourced products, a Plant Sales area, Café and the Green Tree Gallery, ensuring there is plenty to enjoy.

The Garden will is open 10am-5pm throughout the season, from 19 February to 13 November 2022. Discounts available for groups (10+).
