There are a huge range of reasons to join the AGTO, both as a GTO and as an Associate (supplier) member.
GTOs gain access to free legal advice, preferential insurance rates, regular advice on legislation affecting travel regular activity updates PLUS preferential and discounted offers and FAM trip information from Associate members.
As a supplier to GTOs, our Associate membership is a cost effective way of reaching Organisers from across the country and promoting services to them, either using the database, Branch meetings, FAM trips, Showcase events, website or AGTO Magazine, there are plenty of opportunities throughout the year that are exclusively available to members and are often free of charge.

What is AGTO?
The Association for Group Travel Organisers (AGTO) is an independent organisation representing the interests of those who organise tours and trips for groups (Group Travel Organiser – GTO) as well as those who provide services for group travel. Established in 1991, AGTO membership includes more than 450 group travel organisers and over 250 travel and tourism industry suppliers. Our supplier members, across all sectors of the industry, support our GTOs with planning, organising day trips, short breaks, and short or long holidays, both domestically & internationally, as well as offering exclusive familiarisation trips and educationals
What is a Group Travel Organiser (GTO)
At its simplest, a group travel organiser (GTO) is anyone who organises a trip, visit, holiday or tour for a group of people. Examples:
- A secretary of a social club, U3A or WI putting together a day out, short break or extended holiday for members
- The organiser of a holiday for their extended family
- Someone, of any age, organising a trip for a group of friends
A “group” is usually 10 or more and most travel and tourism suppliers will offer discounted rates.
