Standing with Giants

A powerful tribute returns to Waddesdon Manor this autumn. Standing with Giants’ D-Day 1476 – For Your Tomorrow honours the 1,476 lives lost on D-Day under British command. This touching installation features new figures for 2026 representing Beach Masters, Royal Navy Officers, Merchant Navy personnel, Commando Frogmen and others, displayed on the South Front with the beautiful Manor as the backdrop.

Complementing the installation, 1939–1945: The House Interrupted will feature stories, narratives and displays giving visitors a sense of the house and the family during this period.

2027 marks a significant year for Waddesdon Manor, as the extraordinary Buckinghamshire château celebrates 150 years since the laying of its foundation stone in August 1877.

The anniversary year promises a packed programme of special exhibitions and events, plus a new world-class permanent contemporary art experience opening in the summer.
