All aboard for family fun at London Transport Museum with winter festivities kicking off from 24 November. Families can enter a twinkling winter scene where they’ll be able to meet Santa and his elf, climb aboard a Routemaster-inspired interactive sleigh, and enjoy a range of fun, festive activities.
Meet Santa (From 24 November to 23 December, selected times)
Families can visit a magical winter garden to meet Santa and his elf assistant or track him down in the Museum’s galleries for a jolly selfie. Climb aboard a Routemaster-inspired interactive sleigh to flash the headlights, ring the bell and set the Christmas cheer-o-meter.
On weekdays during term time Santa will be in the Museum between 11:00 and 15:00; and between 11:00 and 17:00 on weekends and during the school holidays. The Museum’s festive winter scene will be open for families to enjoy until 4 January 2024.
Christmas crafts (Weekends from 25 November – 17 December and daily from 22 December 2023 – 4 January 2024)
Children can get creative by crafting the perfect pop-out holiday card to gift to a loved one this festive season or enjoy Christmassy colouring-in activities inspired by wintery posters from the Museum’s collection.
Festive story screenings (Daily from 24 November until 4 January)
Get cosy in Santa’s hideaway to watch short festive films, including a story about how the ‘Tf-Elves’ help to deliver Santa’s presents.
Family trail (Daily from 24 November until 4 January)
Families can weave their way through the Museum’s galleries around iconic heritage buses and trains on an immersive digital story trail. Help save Christmas by following a little elf on a quest to find their way back to Santa’s sleigh.
Winter ‘Poster Parade’(From early December)
Visitors can enjoy a display of beautiful vintage posters from the Museum’s collection that celebrate winter in the Capital.
Christmas treats in Canteen
Visitors can stop by Canteen, the Museum’s café bar, to enjoy seasonal treats. Indulge in sweets such as brown butter, cranberry and white chocolate cookies, Christmas slice, and toffee apple blondies. And try special hot drinks – apple crumble latte or winter-spiced hot chocolate. Savoury specials will also be available
Exclusive knitwear and gifts
Shoppers will be spoilt for choice this year with a range of transport inspired gifts and Christmas knitwear exclusive to the London Transport Museum shop.
