2023 The Story So far

It has been a busy year so far for Blenheim Palace, here are a few key highlights.

In January, we embarked on an innovative conservation project to reinstate the roof of The Orangery to its original slate composition. It is the first Grade 1 listed building to carry out a project of this kind.

In March we saw the launch of our Royal Connections; Crowns and Coronets exhibition, where Blenheim Palace celebrated its connections to the British Royal Family across the centuries.

As well as a successful Easter, April also saw the opening of our adventure play, a £.2 million project, where we have created a hidden world of adventure, where mini explorers of all ages can clamber, climb, paddle, slide, splash and zip through the exciting zones.

In August, the iconic Queen Pool Lake dredge was completed, the first dredge in over 100 years. We removed 300,000 cubic metres of silt; this work is essential to allow us to keep ‘The finest view in England’ for future generations.

We are grateful to everyone who visits us, the income from all our visitors allows us to continue this essential restoration and conservation work.  Thank you!

Christmas at Blenheim Palace

A fantastic new theme has been announced for Christmas 2024, The story of Sleeping Beauty. Explore the Palace state rooms transformed by the retelling of this classic fairy-tale for a new generation, from the Great Hall filled by a huge glistening Christmas tree to the candle-lit bedchamber where Aurora sleeps, watched over by the Lilac Fairy.

Visitors can meander through the Christmas market and discover a selection of treasurable gifts, all set within the Great Court.

There will be a new trail for 2024, where new memories are made as a multitude of twinkling lights and seasonal sounds fill the air with festive fun. Discover heart-shaped arches, glittering in the moonlight, glowing tunnels filled with stars and an 8-metre sphere filled with over 20,000 LED’s. You will also see the return of the ever-popular dancing reflections in the colourful Cascades and magical lakeside walk.

Bookings are still open for groups this year, Blenheim Palace are taking bookings directly. Please contact groups@blenheimpalace.com
