COVID-19 Update 26th October 2020

  • Warrington Moves to Very High Alert Status

The Government has announced that Warrington will move to Very High Alert status from midnight tonight. In addition to the base-level requirements regarding social distancing and business closures, the following local business closures will also be introduced.

    • Betting Shops
    • Adult gaming Centres
    • Casinos
    • Soft Play Centres and areas

It is worth noting that gyms and gyms classes are not required to close.

In addition, the Government has flagged that Nottingham and its surrounding areas will move into Very High Alert status at some point this week subject to negotiations with local officials.

 

  • Test and Trace Support Payment Guidance

People contacted by NHS Test and Trace and told to self-isolate on or after 28 September 2020 could be eligible for a £500 Test and Trace Support Payment. The guidance on claiming this payment has been updated with further details on the information people need to provide to the local authority when applying for the Test and Trace Support Payment scheme.

  • Local Authority Coronavirus Infection Rate Trends

The Government has published data on infection rates and trends in individual local authorities in England. There are also data sets on infections by region and epidemiological charts for each local authority in England
