Liverpool’s British Music Experience to Celebrate the Ground-Breaking Show ABBA Voyage while the City Hosts Eurovision 2023

Floating with elegance and vintage glam, ABBA Voyage lend their hand-made ‘Phoenix Collection’ of outfits to go on public display at the British Music Experience as part of the Museum’s celebration of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023. Liverpool is set to host the 67th edition of the song contest culminating with the final on 13 May 2023.

Making of Black Britain announce 2023 partnership with London Transport Museum

Broadcaster Diane Louise Jordan, of Blue Peter, is delighted to announce that the oral history and digital storytelling project, The Making of Black Britain (MOBB) will be working in partnership with London Transport Museum for a series of exciting events in 2023.

The brainchild of Diane Louise Jordan, MOBB  is a mass collection of stories from all over the United Kingdom exploring what it means to be British; a uniquely British story about nationality, citizenship, identity and belonging, with the ambition of being the UK’s biggest ever audio and digital gathering exercise. At the heart of MOBB’s mission is the creation of an oral history archive, which documents the transformation of mainland Britain (or the British metropole) from the start of mass migration from Commonwealth nations post war. It takes the British Nationality Act of 1948 as its anchor point, which recognised Commonwealth subjects as British citizens and recognised their right to work and reside in the UK on an equal status to other British residents.

Spring and summer tickets released for London Transport Museum’s award-winning Hidden London tours

 

  • New tickets for spring and summer dates of London Transport Museum’s exclusive Hidden London tours are now available to book
  • Tours will run from 29 March to the end of August 2023
  • Kingsway tram tunnel tours will return for the first time since July 2022
  • Other in-person tours include Piccadilly Circus, Aldwych, Charing Cross, Down Street, Shepherd’s Bush, Moorgate and Euston stations; as well as the secret subterranean shelter beneath Clapham South
  • Hidden London’s newest virtual tour ‘Hidden London: Discovering the Forgotten Underground’ will be running until 15 August
  • Eight virtual tours will also explore Holborn, York Road, Aldwych and Elizabeth line stations Tottenham Court Road and Liverpool Street among others
  • Also included will be a walking tour around Covent Garden, Kingsway, Lincoln’s Inn Fields and Victoria Embankment
  • Hidden London tours were named ‘Best Hidden Gem in the World’ at the Tiqets’ Remarkable Venue Awards 2022 by public vote
