English Heritage Travel Trade Update – 6 sites open
Tintagel |Castle, Dover Castle, Osborne, West Park, Audley End and 1066 Battle of Hastings, Abbey and Battlefield and Stonehenge.
We are delighted to confirm from 8 August, we will open availability to our Travel Trade partners in our next phase of reopening across the country. Tintagel Castle, Dover Castle, Osborne, Wrest Park, Audley End and 1066 Battle of Hastings, Abbey and Battlefield join Stonehenge in welcoming Travel Trade visits. Pre-booking is now essential to limit visitor numbers and ensure effective social distancing. Please don’t travel to our sites unless you have pre-booked as we won’t be able to let you in without your proof of booking.
To request availability and make a booking, email our bookings team at bookings@english-heritage.org.uk.
What you can expect on a visit
We have introduced specific measures to each of our sites to keep everyone safe and some facilities remain closed at our historic sites as we gradually reopen our properties in phases. Check the latest on what to expect from a visit to our sites and our plans reopening here.
Visitors must bring and wear a face covering when buying from gift shops and cafés or tearooms at all our sites and on the Stonehenge shuttle bus. We won’t be able to give visitors a face covering, so please do come prepared. Face coverings are not mandatory elsewhere during the visit, but we do encourage our visitors to wear them in other enclosed spaces.
English Heritage is supporting the NHS Test and Trace scheme and will be using data collected from site bookings to fulfil part of this should the need arise. You can find out more about why we are doing this here.
Update on FIT
As we are limiting the number of visitors to help everyone follow social distancing guidelines, we are not able to offer our Travel Trade partners the ability to Freesale tickets for the foreseeable future. Anyone who arrives at our sites without a valid English Heritage booking confirmation will not be admitted to site.
If you have any queries regarding tickets sold prior to our sites closing which will now require a booking please email traveltrade@english-heritage.org.uk.
We are working hard to support all our trade partners and will update you again when we can.
Complimentary visits for trade
We are now asking all our Travel Trade pass holders, AGTO members and GTO’s to pre-book their complimentary visits across our sites.
We are only able to offer 1 complimentary ticket per Travel Trade pass / AGTO membership card. We understand this is a change to our normal conditions of entry which allow two people to have complimentary entry per pass/membership.
We will be able to take requests for complimentary trade visits from 17 August. If you would like to travel and enter our site with another person, we request you purchase a ticket through our website once you have received your booking confirmation. Daily timed entry will be offered with limited availability.
Please email, traveltrade@english-heritage.org.uk with your preferred date and time. A member of the team will contact you to confirm availability and send you a booking confirmation. Please present this and your Travel Trade pass/AGTO membership card upon arrival. Without a valid booking confirmation, we won’t be able to let you in. We are working hard to support all our trade partners and will update you again when we can. For any queries, email us at traveltrade@english-heritage.org.uk.
