Celebrating Welcoming Visitors for 75 Years

2025 marks 75 years since Blenheim Palace first welcomed public visitors. To celebrate this milestone, Blenheim Palace is hosting special exhibits and commemorative events highlighting decades of visitor memories. From nostalgic photo displays to guided tours sharing stories from 1950 onward, the Palace is honouring its past and thanking visitors as it looks ahead to the next 75 years.

 

75 Things to do

In honour of 75 years of opening to visitors, Blenheim Palace has created a “75 Things To Do” checklist. It’s packed with ideas to help guests discover every corner of the estate! From iconic highlights to hidden gems and seasonal activities. This celebratory list encourages everyone to explore and make the most of Britain’s Greatest Palace.

 

Life Below Stairs (available now, free access with day ticket or annual pass)

Blenheim Palace’s new Life Below Stairs experience takes visitors on an immersive journey into the hidden world of the Palace’s servants. Step back to the 1890s and explore the restored kitchens, hearing authentic sounds and stories of the household staff who kept the estate running behind the scenes.

 

The Orangery Restaurant (Seasonal Menus)

The Orangery Restaurant delights guests with exquisite, ever-changing seasonal menus that celebrate Oxfordshire’s finest produce. Enjoy authentically British afternoon tea with homemade scones, delightful sweet treats and dainty sandwiches, or savour a locally sourced lunch. Each menu is thoughtfully crafted to capture the season, offering an elegant farm-to-table dining experience.

 

Blenheim Palace Food Festival (24th – 26th May 2025)

Every May bank holiday, food lovers flock to the Blenheim Palace Food Festival – a gastronomic extravaganza set against the historic Palace backdrop. With live cooking demos from celebrity chefs, family activities, gourmet delights, and street food favourites, there’s something to tantalise every palate.

 

Dogs in May (May 2025)

For one month only (May 2025), Blenheim Palace extends an extra welcome to four-legged friends. During May, leashed dogs are allowed not only in the Parkland but also in our Courtyards, Formal Gardens and Walled Garden (areas usually off-limits). It’s a treat for pups and their owners to explore more of Blenheim Palace’s outdoors together.

7K Fun Run (18th May)

Blenheim Palace’s annual 7K Fun Run invites participants of all abilities to race through the Palace’s parkland for charity. The picturesque route past the Grand Bridge and Column of Victory, make this springtime run a highlight for local runners and families. A fun, friendly atmosphere, the 7K Fun Run is an inspiring way to experience the beautiful grounds.

 

Themed Talks (available to book now)

Discover captivating stories through themed talks led by Blenheim Palace’s expert historians. Topics range from Sir Winston Churchill and Royal Connections to the Ladies of Blenheim and Sustainability. Ideal for group visits and events, each talk offers a deeper look into the Palace’s history through insightful, engaging storytelling.

 

Adventure Play

Blenheim Palace Adventure Play is a hidden world of adventure where imaginations run wild. This expansive playground features towering wooden forts, rope bridges, slides, zip-lines, and seasonal water play. With dedicated toddler areas and friendly staff on hand, it offers endless outdoor fun for children and families, making every visit a mini-adventure of its own.

 

Giffords Circus at Blenheim Palace (22nd May – 2nd June)

Roll up for Giffords Circus at Blenheim Palace! Each late spring, this much-loved vintage circus returns to the parkland, bringing acrobats, jugglers, horses, and live music in a 1950s Americana-themed show. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, Giffords’ enchanting performances bring nostalgia, charm, and thrills for all ages.
