Take your Group to Hadestown

If you haven’t yet seen it, HADESTOWN at the Lyric Theatre, London is a really good musical to take your group to. Thanks to Travel Beat, a group of Group Travel Organisers were lucky enough to be given tickets.

I reviewed it for our magazine when it opened last year and put it here with the names of some new cast members inserted – they are equally as good!

I thought the singing was excellent. It’s a sung-through musical directed by Rachel Chavkin. Anaya Mitchell’s musical tells the story of Orpheus (Dylan Wood Finn) and Eurydice (Madeline Charlemagne) whose story runs alongside that of Hades (Zachary James) and Persephone (Gloria Onitiri) who rule the underworld.

The musician Orpheus, and Euridice are in love, but she is enticed into the underworld of Hadestown. Orpheus tries to rescue her when she becomes disillusioned with her life in the underworld.

Although some members of the cast changed, Melanie La Barrie remains. She has a fantastic voice and plays Hermes who is the narrator of the story.

All the cast sing incredibly well; the staging is great and the choreography interesting. I enjoyed it and expect your members will too. Booking until way into 2025
