KYNREN’S PRE-SHOW DINING EXPERIENCE RETURNS FOR ITS THIRD YEAR
The multi-award-winning outdoor live theatre event, Kynren – An Epic Tale of England transports audiences through 2,000 years of English history and is bringing back its pre-show dining experience for a third year.
Kynren’s dining package offers visitors the chance to enjoy a three-course meal in the spectacular Arches Hall and pre-dinner drinks can be purchased on an exclusive lakeside terrace with views of Auckland Castle.
The menu is prepared by an onsite chef and features local and seasonal produce, with mains including pan roasted chicken filled with morel mushroom mousse, served with roasted celeriac and potatoes, seasonal vegetables and chicken jus alongside a vegan option consisting of baby summer vegetable saffron risotto, served with kale pesto and carrot crisps.
Gluten free options are available for all three courses and the meal also includes a large glass of red or white wine followed by coffee or tea.
Anna Warnecke, Kynren’s CEO said: “We launched our dining experience in 2022 and its popularity has increased each year.
“Kynren is a remarkable show and we want to make sure our visitors can make the most of the whole experience by offering them an unforgettable evening.
“As well as our dining package, visitors can also enjoy our Viking Village pre-show experience featuring an authentic re-creation of a traditional 9th-century dwelling – so there are plenty of ways everyone can kickstart their Kynren adventure before they even take their seats.”
Performed by a 1,000-strong volunteer cast and crew on a seven-and-a-half-acre outdoor stage in County Durham, Kynren is a spectacular re-telling of 2,000 years of English history.
Set against the magnificent backdrop of Auckland Castle, Kynren transports audiences on a spellbinding voyage through history, myth and legend and features daring stunts, state-of-the-art special effects, fireworks and evocative orchestral music.
The multi-award-winning shows run on Saturday nights from 27th July to 14th September, and each 90-minute performances starts at sunset and ends in starlight.
The Kynren dining package costs £54.95 per person and there is a limited availability each night during the show’s eight-week run. A ticket to a performance of Kynren will also need to be purchased separately.
