A feminist Peter Pan- Wendy and Peter Pan****

The National Theatre, London, has come up with a brand new version of the Peter Pan story. In WENDY AND PETER PAN**** at the Barbican Theatre, we have Wendy (Hannah Saxby) as the lead character. Very unhappy over what she believes to be the death of her young brother, she follows Peter Pan (Daniel Krikler) back to Neverland. She is accompanied by her other two brothers. Lots of adventures take place involving the lost boys and, of course, Captain Hook (beautifully played by Toby Stephens) and a super slimy crocodile(Harrison Claxton).
Although, I am not a fan generally of adults playing children, I have to say that in this production the enthusiasm of the whole cast produces a delightful story. A bit long for young children, it should appeal to all others.
The Aerial work is fantastic and the production and set design excellent . Impressive lighting design and general spectacle make this a show worth catching.
