The heritage city of Winchester provides the perfect backdrop to the festive season
The excitement starts on 14 November with the Winchester Christmas lights switch on.
The Winchester Cathedral Christmas Market, recognised as one of the best in Europe, opens daily from 22 November until 22 December. Complete your visit with a trip inside the cathedral who offer group friendly tours and discounts.
Other attractions offering group discounts include Winchester College, which has the most extended continuous history of any English school, and the Great Hall, home to King Arthur’s Round Table.
Christmas at The Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich
The beautiful Chapel of St Peter & St Paul at the Old Royal Naval College is regarded as one of the finest neo-classical interiors. This Christmas, your group will be able to enjoy a festive concert in the Chapel, delivered by award-winning Trinity Laban Chapel Choir, with the chance to join in and sing some of your festive favorite’s.
Included in the visit, there is entry to the Painted Hall, known as the ‘Sistine Chapel of the UK’ with its magnificent 3,700 square meters of walls and ceilings, depicting 200 figures including kings, queens and mythological creatures, as well as access to the breathtaking winter art installation, Mars in the Painted Hall.

Luke Jerram’s astonishing installation Mars is coming to the Painted Hall this winter.
Measuring seven metres in diameter, this spellbinding artwork features detailed NASA imagery of the Martian surface recreated to scale, slowly rotating with a light and surround sound composition created by BAFTA and Ivor Novello award winning composer Dan Jones.
