A Celebration of Connection, Culture and Group Travel Excellence
The AGTO Showcase 2026 lit up the vibrant city of Leicester with an unforgettable weekend of networking, inspiration, entertainment and industry collaboration. Bringing together group travel organisers, tourism partners and travel professionals from across the UK, the event proved once again why the AGTO Showcase remains a highlight of the group travel calendar.
Expertly hosted by the Holiday Inn Leicester and supported throughout by Visit Leicester, the event was made possible thanks to the generosity of our sponsors: Gold Sponsor Constantinou Bros Hotels, Silver Sponsor Riviera Travel, Transport Sponsors Dunwood and Ellen Smith, together with Group Leisure & Travel Magazine and CJAM.
From the moment delegates arrived, there was a real buzz in the air.
Friday began with a warm welcome at the AGTO registration desk, where delegates collected their goodie bags kindly provided by Visit Leicester before gathering in the Leicestershire Suite for the official opening.
AGTO CEO Wendy welcomed everyone with an upbeat review of the year’s achievements before Visit Leicester showcased the incredible attractions and experiences delegates would enjoy over the weekend.
A standout speaker session followed with the brilliant Debbie Marshall from Silver Marketing Association, whose lively and insightful presentation on marketing to the “silver generation” struck a real chord with attendees. Entertaining, engaging and refreshingly honest, Debbie reminded us all that today’s mature traveller is vibrant, adventurous and anything but old-fashioned.
Industry challenges were also tackled head-on, as Stuart Render gave delegates a fascinating overview of the rising pressures facing coach operators and the realities behind increasing travel costs.
The afternoon concluded with an inspiring presentation from Gold Sponsor Mark at Constantinou Bros Hotels, highlighting their exceptional Cyprus properties and extensive expertise in welcoming group travellers.
Back by popular demand were the AGTO Discussion Groups, now firmly established as a key part of the Showcase programme. Delegates joined lively round-table debates to share ideas, discuss challenges and help shape the future of AGTO. Once again, conversations were so animated that organisers had to call time on discussions!

Friday evening delivered the perfect mix of relaxation and entertainment. Delegates enjoyed an informal dinner with drinks, a delicious street-food buffet and fantastic West End-style performances from C&N Productions. One particularly memorable moment saw Colin Duncan of C&N (aka Johnny) and Janine Akalley of Plimbley Travel (aka Baby) attempt the iconic Dirty Dancing lift — with enthusiasm definitely outweighing elegance!
